Getting Around Martha's Vineyard

Getting Around Martha's Vineyard

Martha's Vineyard offers a comprehensive bus system that connects all towns, Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, Vineyard Haven, Aquinnah, Chilmark, and West Tisbury. Frequency of service varies with the season, but buses run regularly year-round and are a great cost-effective way to see the beauty of the Island.

You can pay as you go, or purchase 1-day, 3-day, or 1-week bus passes on the buses, at the Steamship Authority or at the Edgartown Visitors Center, which also sells 1-month and annual passes. Buses may be boarded at stop or flagged en route in safe places(i.e.. not in an intersection or on a curve).

VTA buses are all equipped with bike racks, so you can take your bike with you on your more distant excursions—bike and bus— it's a great way to go!

All VTA buses are handicapped accessible.
